Can Apple Cider Vinegar Help You Lose Weight?

Many people, especially women, use apple cider vinegar to lose weight because they promise better fat burning and a good supply of nutrients. A glass of water with apple cider vinegar when losing weight should bring better results and make the pounds fall off faster.

How does apple cider vinegar work for weight loss?

To find out how apple cider vinegar could help you lose weight, you should first familiarize yourself with the product “apple cider vinegar” itself. Apple cider vinegar is nothing more than the product made from fermented cider.

Commercially available apple cider vinegar contains 5-6% acetic acid. It tastes mild, sour and fruity at the same time. Apple cider vinegar is not the only vinegar made from fruit, but it is a type of vinegar that is common and used in naturopathy. Apple cider vinegar is also said to help you lose weight.

All modes of action of apple cider vinegar in naturopathy are, however, only traditional and handed down, but not scientifically proven. Except for one property: Apple cider vinegar (like any other vinegar) has a disinfectant effect due to its acidity. That is why it is often used (diluted) in cosmetics.

Its acidity also helps with cleaning and works against limescale deposits. But it is really too good to clean!

Does Apple Cider Vinegar Melt Fat?

Vinegar is often found in cleaning products that are used in bathrooms and kitchens. Perhaps this is where the assumption arises that apple cider vinegar can help you lose weight, just like a kitchen cleaner with vinegar helps against greasy dirt around the stove.

The vinegar in the kitchen cleaner is only there to remove lime stains through the acid and to destroy bacteria, as well as to remove bad smells. Acetic acid alone does not help against fat, neither in the kitchen nor on the hips.

While using apple cider vinegar to lose weight is a traditional diet aid that is still recommended and popularly used to this day, there is no scientific evidence as to how apple cider vinegar could help you lose weight in any way.

Apple cider vinegar is still a delicious ingredient and can be used in many ways in the kitchen:

Soft drink with apple cider vinegar

Whether you want to use apple cider vinegar to lose weight or not, does not matter with this drink, because it tastes very refreshing regardless of a diet.

A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar dissolved in water makes a wonderful soft drink for the summer, which the ancient Romans also knew.

If you take carbonated mineral water and mix in some fruit juice (for example apple juice), you have a kind of natural lemonade. Be careful not to use more than one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar per glass of water – too much acid in the drink damages tooth structure and can cause heartburn!

Prepare your own creations with apple cider vinegar

Due to its fruity aroma , apple cider vinegar is a wonderful basis for self-made vinegar creations. For a delicious and individual herbal vinegar, you simply fill the vinegar into a bottle and add fresh herbs.

Depending on how intense you like the taste, you can leave the herbs in the vinegar or remove them after a certain time. Dill or – even more fruity – elderflower go well with apple cider vinegar!

Raspberries and apples harmonize perfectly not only in a fruit salad, but also in vinegar! Simply put raspberries (also from the freezer) in the apple cider vinegar.

If you like the intensity, all you have to do is pour the reddish vinegar through a filter or sieve and enjoy! Delicious!

Apple cider vinegar brings color into play

Not really into the game, but into the herb. If you cook red cabbage from fresh cabbages, you’ll be amazed at how purple it turns in the pot when you add a dash of apple cider vinegar. Particularly delicious with red apple cabbage! Give it a try, because the eye eats too!

Which Apple Cider Vinegar to Use?

If you want to use apple cider vinegar for weight loss, for refreshment or for cooking, you stand in front of a large selection of bottles with apple cider vinegar in the supermarket and at first glance you will not know which bottle is the right choice.

First, choose an apple cider vinegar from certified organic production, because this way you can be sure that this natural product is not contaminated with pesticides, fungicides, herbicides and other pollutants.

Food from controlled organic production, cultivation or origin are always preferable to those from conventional trade.

Whether you buy cloudy or clear apple cider vinegar is up to you. Basically it is better to always consume as little processed product as possible, but for some applications, for example if you want to give away homemade herbal vinegar, the filtered apple cider vinegar is simply nicer.

So you now know that apple cider vinegar for weight loss is just a traditionally handed down tip from naturopathy. Feel free to use it, but don’t expect too much. Instead of apple cider vinegar, there are much more effective tips for losing weight …
