You can just hang the shoe on a tree trunk in the garden  and fill it with birdseed so your chirping friends can find food. With a little skill you can even build a bird house out of the shoe and some wood!

How about an original flower pot in the garden? Use old boots or walking shoes, fill them with soil and plant flowers in them.
